Individual sessions to address remedial behaviour:
Horses can be fearful of routine things, becoming dangerous in their attempt to avoid the situation. From a horse that won't walk through water or spooks at plastic, through to refusing to load in a truck or trailer. Number of sessions required will depend on the nature of the problem with the intention of leaving horse and handler in harmony with each other.
Starting young horses with first saddle, bridle and rider:
This process can be one of the most traumatic experiences in a young horse’s life; however, if this is handled with skill and in the absence of fear, the result is a well-adjusted horse ready for discipline-specific training. As their training continues into the future, this solid foundation helps the horse to more easily accept new and more demanding lessons.
Individual sessions with stallion-appropriate training in order to keep horse and handler safe:
Stallions are the most frequently misunderstood horses making skilled training paramount; this can mean the difference between an emotionally balanced, confident stud versus an aggressive and dangerous horse. The overall aim of these sessions is to leave the stallion and their handler in harmony with each other.
Early training of foals and weanlings as a foundation to preparation for sales:
Minimising trauma and maximising learning ability enables young horses to more consistently produce a lifetime of peak performance. How a foal is handled from birth through to the start of its ridden career is critical in producing a well-balanced adult, and a solid foundation on which to add future training.
Group or individual sessions to help improve handler skills:
Inexperienced handlers consistently cause behavioural issues in horses that must later be addressed by the trainer and at the cost of the owner, interfering with the performance potential and long-term value of the horse. By providing handlers with the necessary training, these issues can be prevented before they start.
